Binka Zlatareva

Binka Zlatareva was born on 04.06.1891. One of the first female artists in Bulgaria. She graduated from the girls' school in her hometown. Then she received secondary education in Shumen. In 1915 she graduated from the Art Industrial School in Sofia in the class of Prof. Ivan Mrkvička. She specialized under Prof. V. Hinaís at the Academy of Arts in Prague /1923-1924/. She worked in the field of portrait, landscape, still life. The artist's favorite theme was flowers. She worked in all painting techniques.

She is also the author of travelogues following her travels to Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, and Turkey.

He died in 1972 in Sofia.
