Gancho Karabadzhakov

Gancho Karabadzhakov was born in 1951 in Yambol. He graduated from an art school in Kazanlak, and then continued his education at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, where he specialized in Illustration and Book Design under Prof. Hristo Neykov. After graduating, he created numerous monumental frescoes and developed a distinctive style in his painting. In addition to being an artist, Karabadzhakov was also an active public figure - in 2001 he was briefly Deputy Minister of Culture. Between 2008 and 2011, he was the director of the Boris Denev Art Gallery in Veliko Tarnovo, and then became the city's deputy mayor. He passed away in 2021.
