Georgi Atanasov
Georgi Atanasov Georgiev (1874–1950) was a Bulgarian artist, born in the village of Giren (now Belozem). He graduated from the State Drawing School in 1902 with Yaroslav Veshin. He specialized in Munich with Professor Karl von Maar, after which he returned to Bulgaria and worked as a drawing teacher in Haskovo, Pazardzhik, Belozem and Plovdiv. He retired in 1934. Active member and chairman of the Society of South Bulgarian Artists. He participated in exhibitions in Belgrade, Sofia and in the General Art Exhibitions. He created portraits, landscapes and figurative compositions. His works are kept in the National Art Gallery, the Plovdiv Gallery, Russia and private collections.
