Mikhail Lalov

Mihail Lalov graduated from the National Art School in Sofia, as well as the National Academy of Arts - Sofia.

To date, he has had over 50 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous joint exhibitions. He has been the set designer for a number of productions in theaters across the country.

Lalov's works are known to the general public, not only in the country, but also abroad. His exhibitions have been shown in Germany, France, the USA, Great Britain, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Macedonia, Luxembourg, Latvia, where he also won a competition and worked at the Rothko Foundation in 2015.

Lalov's paintings are owned by the National Art Gallery, a number of galleries in the country, and private collectors from Europe, Asia, and America.

The artist shares about his art:

“Art does not reflect reality, nor the artist’s views of reality. It is a state of mind, an emotion that swirls within you and that you convey through the canvas. Anything can be art: a line, a color, a figure, or a small dot is art when it conveys the state of the human mind.” And he adds: “I don’t want to be evaluated or compared, I want to work and the pleasure I feel to reach those who need it.”
