Napoleon Alekov


Napoleon Alexandrov Alekov is a Varna artist - marine painter.

He was born Napoleon Aleko Inglezi on April 22, 1912, in the northern Dobrudja Bulgarian town of Tulcea, Romania. His father was a Greek merchant from Constantinople and his mother was a local Bulgarian from Northern Dobrudja.

At the outbreak of World War I in 1914, his family moved to Bulgaria and settled in Varna. He began painting at an early age.

Alekov is the author of over 25 solo exhibitions and leaves behind a great body of work.
